dnd 5e versatile
A quarterstaff in 5E D&D is a versatile weapon, and I don’t mean only because of the Versatile weapon property. druids gain wildshape for melee, have full spell progression, and access to their whole spell list, so they mainly lose a bit on skill checks compared to bard. Lore bards will be mostly support/healing, but will still be very serviceable for combat. Conjurers have effectively infinite ammunition for thrown weapons and the like. There are two completely different questions, here. Never thought of taking the ritual caster feat with a bladelock to simulate tome of ancient secrets. You can use two spell slots of the same level to cast a spell you know that is one level higher. I want to class that can be built to fill any number of roles in a party. you honestly get the whole package, and I havent heard an argument yet as to what class doesnt benefit from a warlock multiclass. Versatile weapons are one-handed, but you can use one two-handed.

Especially since you mentioned "Which would be most likely to win in a fight".

Versatile means it may be used 2-handed or 1-handed. Bard.

I think the answer to that is "a fighter." If you do so, you gain a +1 bonus to the weapon's damage rolls.

The damage for 1-handed is the primary listed value and the damage for 2-handed is listed in parenthetical notation alongside the versatile property entry. Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it!

They have more ASI/Feats than anyone else, proficiency with all armor and weapons, and skills built around fighting, Second Wind, Action Surge, Extra Attacks.

Especially with the fiend pact, because it adds survivability for tanking as well as AoE spells.

Of course, I think the idea of populating an entire party of one single class is silly. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Really?

I am playing a 1fighter/7bladelock now as part of a "new players" party to role fill when everyone else is lacking. You have many tools at your disposal and the ritual book can add any ritual spell scroll to it when you find one.

wizards really shouldn't mess with combat too much, but are of note because of their potentially large reportoir of learned spells for a variety of tasks. A quarterstaff is a simple melee weapon any character can use and even if an adventurer can’t muster 2 silver pieces, finding a suitably stout length of …

Versatile means it may be used 2-handed or 1-handed. If you mean which class allows you to create the widest variety of characters, clerics or bards are the best choice (melee, support, archery, blasting etc are all options). If they go Tome warlock they can get a ton of different spells from other classes as well, and they get their spells back on a short rest; So they can fill pretty much any role you may need (except possibly healing). Since you're asking which party of five of the same class would win in a fight, the answer is obvious.
